I was born in Treviso, Italy, also known to be the city of Prosecco and Tiramisù.

I pursued my undergraduate studies in Biotechnology at the University of Padua, then I earned a Master’s degree in Functional Genomics from the University of Trieste. After I spent a year as Sales Manager, I realized I missed research too much, so I decided to try to pursue a PhD. My academic path led me to Prague, where I successfully completed my PhD in the laboratory of Developmental Biology, at Charles University, with the thesis name: “Cytogenomics of the family Pipidae: an evolutionary fate and mechanisms of chromosomal rearrangements.” During my PhD I explored the evolution and differentiation of Pipidae frogs, particularly the genus Xenopus. I combined molecular and cytogenetic techniques with sequencing.

During my PhD years I was also part of the Cell Biology PhD conference organizing group.

I fell in love with frogs during the years, so keep on studying them it was the natural progression of my academic path.

As a Postdoc, now I’m part of the regeneration project, bringing my scientific interests to a new level.

Besides my scientific interests, and frogs, I also love to go to concerts, play videogames, read books and comics, play beach volleyball, and, of course, support FC Inter.
