Areas of expertise

  •  bioinformatics

I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Bioinformatics at Charles University in Prague, where I also completed a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry of Organisms in 2024. After finishing my bachelor’s studies I joined the Laboratory of Gene Expression, where I work as part of a team studying head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. Building on my background in molecular biology, my current research focuses on computational analysis of single cell RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics data from these tumors. We aim to identify and characterize tumor cell populations that share transcriptional profiles with regeneration initiating cells described in regenerative systems and to better understand their possible role in tumor development. I am also interested in computational drug design and in applying machine learning and deep learning to biological problems, and I have taken part in projects related to ligand design and model improvement. Outside the lab I like to stay active and I tend to change sports from time to time. At the moment I mostly climb, and in the past I have spent a lot of time running and playing squash. I also enjoy using an analog camera to take candid photos of my friends at social events as a way to keep a physical record of those moments.
